Without the support of local organizations, most of what we work so hard every day to accomplish, would not be possible. Examples of grants awarded include the Rhode Island Cancer Council for the publication of a most valuable breast cancer guide. This guide has been distributed throughout Rhode Island via breast health centers, physicians’ offices, and breast health treatment facilities in an effort to increase awareness of breast cancer patient options and resources.
Funding has also been provided to the Healing Co-op for an innovative breast health program focused on patient creativity and healing. This
program resulted in a published book, play and arts program designed to help breast cancer patients and their families cope with this disease.
The Rhode Island Breast Cancer Coalition has also received funding which enabled a world renowned author and breast surgeon the
opportunity to speak with hundreds of Rhode Island women who are
suffering or have suffered from this horrific disease.
