Warwick House of Hope Corporation
Mission Statement
As a community development corporation (CDC), the House of Hope creates community and economic development in neighborhoods, villages, cities and towns in Rhode Island. By developing affordable housing and assuring supportive services, House of Hope empowers individuals and families to reach their fullest potential.
House of Hope History
The House of Hope was established in 1989 to shelter homeless families in crisis and to assist them in developing the skills that are needed to live independently. The organization is a private nonprofit that embraces every individual as a unique and valuable member of the community. The need for the House of Hope became apparent to its founders when inquiries for help consistently outnumbered the available housing and social services that were available. Inquiries for help come from families in need due to serious illnesses, those working for minimum wage who are unable to make ends meet, individuals that may have a mental illness, and other people that are in crisis.
Since its inception, the House of Hope has helped thousands of families and individuals in their quest to create quality of life for themselves and others through measures that are socially just and morally responsible regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, economics, age, education, sexual orientation, handicap or other differences. |
