Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island is the third oldest hospice in the nation and the largest and most experienced agency in Rhode Island.

Based on the philosophy of Dame Cicely Saunders, founder of the modern hospice movement, Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island offers the most comprehensive scope of medical and psychosocial services to individuals with complex medical problems and their loved ones.

Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island provides quality, compassionate health care to children and adults facing advanced stages of any life-threatening illness such as cancer, AIDS, Alzheimer’s, and end stage heart and lung disease.

Care is provided in homes, nursing homes, hospitals, assisted living facilities and at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center.

The goal of hospice care is to improve the comfort and reduce the suffering felt by people who are facing the end of their lives. Each person is recognized as a person, not a disease, and treated with respect and dignity.

A non-profit agency, HHCRI is licensed by the RI Department of Health and certified by Medicare to provide home health and hospice services in the community. HHCRI’s hospice and home care services are available by telephone 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
