Ohio State University Medical Center has designated its cancer program as one of six Signature Programs to drive future success in the areas of research, patient care and education. As such, the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC - James) – is a world-class healthcare enterprise focused on improving the lives of cancer patients.

An international leader in cancer research, the OSUCCC - James is dedicated to translating research into high-quality patient care and educational programs for residents of central Ohio and beyond. We are one of only 39 institutions in the United States designated by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) as a "comprehensive" cancer center.

As the adult patient-care component of the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center, the James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute (the James) has been providing innovative cancer care for patients and families since we opened in July 1990. This year, the James was again rated as one of “America’s Best Hospitals” by U.S. News & World Report.

Our ability to translate groundbreaking cancer research into innovative patient care distinguishes the James as an academic medical institution and positions us for a leadership role in personalized medicine. Patients here are already benefiting from the individualized treatments and preventive strategies designed to meet their unique personal healthcare needs.
